Hey, I have an 80 gig zune. Started showing a battery symbol with a bolt in the middle, then would fade to a drained battery symbolo with a slim line of red at the bottom. So I had the battery changed. Everything works fine, plays, charges with usb, zune dock and zune kicker stereo. When I plugged into my computer with usb I get the "usb device not recognized, one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned message".... I've tried different usb ports, 3 different computers,2 sync cables, restart zune, update microsoft service pack for windows and nothing.. I took the last resort and tried to reformat and its stuck on the open software and restore the device firmware screen and the usb not recognized screen is still coming up... I wish I had never tried the restore. At least I had my zune working and charging with 6000 songs, now I have nothing but a frozen screen

Hey guys, even I am stuck at step 3, it simply says "please wait" and nothing happens. Is there any fix for this problem?

I have a 120 gb Zune..this is my 5th one. I wouldnt be caught dead with an ipod but I need my music. I've had every error from 1- to the dreaded 5. (5 means your hardrive is gone) I've spent an hour and a half talking to someone that spoke little to no english and basically told me my zune broke because I did not "properly shut off the zune" (which is holding down and back button). I was told I had to pay $120 for a refurbished zune and cover all the postage to get mine repaired. This is hopefully lucky #6. I've done the hard reboot and it keeps going to the screen that says 1 please connect to your pc.. when I connect it the zune player says it needs to update.. after gettin as far as 2% it stops and says there was an error updating and my zune player is stuck on #2. I'm afraid to do too many hard reboots because last time I got the dreaded error 5 (in which there is no help for). If anyone knows any other tricks or tips I'd really appriciate it. Please contact me via email.
